Scottish Highland Games

On Saturday, my husband Ray donned his kilt for the Scottish Highland Games. We were joined by all the Simpsons: Rita, Tom, Kristi, Beau, Luke, and baby Beth. Along with our family, we brought Daren and Payton and were joined by our good friend Mark.

In Fairy Land the kids received face painting. All the kids played in the bounce house. After, we ate our picnic lunch, with stroller and 6 kids in tow, we walked around to the booths to shop. Ray corrupted Daren and he now has his own sword. You're welcome, Belinda and John! :)

A Day at the Ranch

Monday was president's Day, and a day off with the kids. We packed a picnic basket and headed to Brooke's ranch. On the way, we stopped to pick up Joshua, Hannah and Zandi. When we arrived we met Belinda and Kristi and their kids. The weather was gorgeous. My friends and I enjoyed sitting outside in the cool, refreshing breeze while the kids spent hours playing. We did instruct the kids to NOT feed the animals, but they did so anyways. Reanne was producing and narrating a video on my camera and left the evidence on it. Here is a small clip of what transpired. Brooke didn't realize she was being taped...sneaky Reanne.

20-10

Ok, so it was my birthday and I turned 20-10. Yes, I can add, and 20+10 is 30. Yep, I'm 30. Ok, I said it...30!! I think I'm finally over the shock of it.

Speaking of shock, my loving husband gave me a surprise party on Sunday. And, yes, I had NO IDEA! I was shocked, but in a good way. It was a great day and most of my close friends and family where there.

Thanks to all of you! It was the best surprise party (my first, actually) and just so great to have been able to share the day with my friends and family. Thank you for all the loving memories. I cherish each and every one of them.

Dance

Reanne waited patiently all week to go to the Father Daughter Dance at her school. Before the dance, we had to dress for the occasion. One hour before the dance, we had a last minute shoe shopping trip to do. Both girls looked cute and glamorous in their matching dresses.

As a volunteer mom photographer, I had the advantage of taking candid shots of my own family. It was a busy night taking pictures of all the fathers and their daughters.

Ray danced with each of the girls. Isabel just wanted to dance in circles. Reanne preferred dancing with her friends, but I was able to snap some darling father daughter moments.

A Day Out

This past weekend, Ray and I spent the day together in Tucson. Ray wanted to go to the stamp show, and we had a lot of fun. More fun than I thought possible! :) Ray was like a kid in a candy store. We had such a great day together. The girls stayed with my sister-in-law. She's the best sister-in-law anyone could ever have!! :) (I love her so much that I think I'll take her to Europe with me in April!)

Reanne b-day

Reanne's birthday was in December, but we postponed the actual celebration so she could have her own special day, unclouded by the grandeur of Christmas. So, this past Saturday we celebrated Reanne's 9th birthday!! We had a spectacular day with our family and friends.
Funny story...During the party, my husband mistakenly walked up behind the mother of one of Reanne's friends from school, whom we had JUST met, and started to rub her shoulders. He thought it was his mom due to their similar hair, but after rubbing her back for a while, he realized his mistake. Now, my husband has no fear of embarrassment (in fact, he typically LOVES to do embarrassing things so that OTHERS are embarrassed), but when he realized he had been rubbing a complete stranger's shoulders his face turned beet red. I have never seen Ray blush. Ever. Too funny!
Reanne and Ray spent most of the morning fussing over her birthday cake and it tuned out to be an excellent cake. It was very pretty and delicious, too.
